After three American airmen were detained by local police at the Wieseck police station, the accused, identifying himself as Police Director of Giessen, and in the company of NSDAP Kreisleiter Brueck and Hitler Jugend Leader Wilcke, ordered the POW's to be handed over. The Wieseck police refused this but the POW's were taken by force and were marched off to the Giessen cemetery and subsequently shot and killed on orders of the NSDAP Kreisleiter and Reichs Defense Commissioner of Giessen, Brueck (see also US147)
