A bomber plane pilot parachuted to earth over the Gusen concentration camp. While still in the air and despite having raised his hands in token of surrender, the accused, an SS camp guard, fired a series of shots at the flier with an automatic weapon. After landing, the heavily wounded flyer was taken to the camp's hospital where he died in the course of an emergency operation
